Message sent to all members 10/12/09Posted Tuesday, October 13, 2009 by Bari Tuman Greetings!
Homecoming was a huge success and largely because of the behind the scenes magic performed by some wonderful parents. Ladies (and I mean dancers), please take a minute to thank the following people for their time, effort and commitment to our team, without which we would be nowhere!
What an exciting Homecoming this was for Lassiter ... a 44 to 7 victory over Alpharetta with our team being 6 and 0 for the season - unprecedented for Lassiter! GO TROJANS!. And congratulations to Zoe on being voted into Homecoming Court....you looked beautiful and we were so proud of you.
I would be remiss if I did not congratulate our team on some fine performances. The word is out, no doubt about it....this year's Varsity Dance Team is some kind of wonderful. Mr. Shaw and the rest of the administration has been showering our team with kudos and compliments. Mr. Shaw told me personally during the parade staging how proud and impressed he is with the team and said he thought the team did a great job at the last pep rally. More rave reviews from different fans regarding our team's performance at the Mountain View Fall Festival. And on a personal note - I think your performance at the homecoming game was nothing short of great.
This week our team will be featured during half time and I believe have a full 4 minutes of performance time. Parents, you definitely do not want to miss this! Prior to the game, Coach Wright is arranging a social event for the girls...dinner at O'Charley's. I believe she previously sent out information regarding this event, however, here it is again in case you missed it:
This Sunday, our team is paying it forward by participating in a community service event, The Nadar Parman II Memorial Run. There is an early start - 6:30 AM, but very worth while. Mrs. Christina Hess is taking care of all of the arrangements for our team. Please be sure to contact her with any questions you may have. She will also be on site the day of the event to help out and oversee our girls.
Finally, I have some great news for our team and that is to let everyone know we were invited back by the Board of the Cobb-Georgia Special Olympics to be part of their opening ceremonies. Like last year, the team will dance, lifting the spirits of the audience and then afterwards, mingle with the athletes at the dance. All of the dancers who participated in this last year will tell you what an incredible experience this was and how much they are looking forward to doing this again this year. Here are the details:
The ladies are getting ready for our first competition - Central Gwinnett HS Invitational, on Saturday, November 21st. I will be putting together some information regarding that event in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks again to all of the parents and our coaches for everything...because of all of you, your support and efforts, we are enjoying a successful and great year. |
