HOMECOMING NEWS AND COMPETITION NEWSPosted Thursday, October 08, 2009 by Bari Tuman Good Evening Everyone!
I will do my best to make this as brief as possible...
- Homecoming:
- This Friday is LHS Homecoming. There will be a Pep Rally in the morning. Captains have communicated to the team what to wear. Please text, email, call FB message them if you are unclear or unsure.
- All dancers need to report to the Home Depot Parking Lot immediately after school on Friday to assist with putting the finishing touches on the float decorations.
- Please do your best to be there by 4:00. It is best to walk there from the school as it will be very difficult to park and deal with the traffic.
- The parade starts at 5:30
- Parents and fans - I would recommend setting situation along the parade route no later than 5:00. Bring lawn chairs and bags to collect the candy and other goodies being tossed from the floats
- Parking may be best either at Harrison Tennis Center or at Sandy Plains Baseball...DO NOT PARK IN THE LOT WHERE THE FLOATS ARE BEING STAGED
- per LSC/Renaissance (the school organization responsible for homecoming) no one can park in the staging areas
- We will be providing a light bite to eat for the girls (subs, chips and water) for our tailgate party in the parking lot while they get ready for the parade
- The team is scheduled to perform at 7:02
- We still need parent volunteers to assist with the take down of the float and clean up after the parade.
- Congratulations to Zoe for being in the Freshman Homecoming Court!
- Competitions:
- CENTRAL GWINNETT - SATURDAY NOVEMBER 21ST:
- we finally received confirmation from Central Gwinnett that their competition is on Saturday, November 21st. This is our first competition of the season. Paperwork (waivers and registration forms) will be distributed in a couple of days.
- there will be a mandatory practice on Friday, November 20th from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Centre Stage
- there will be a mandatory team social gathering following the practice
- hosted by the Hess family
- Dinner will be served (details TBA)
- Car Decorating for the caravan over to the competition
- KSU COMPETITION - SATURDAY JANUARY 16TH
- Coach Wright has sent out the necessary paperwork for this competition and needs it returned ASAP. I am attaching the electronic copies should you need them - just print them, complete them and turn in at the next practice
- there will be a mandatory practice on Friday January 15th from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Centre Stage
- there will be a mandatory team social gathering following the practice
- hosted by the Tuman family
- Dinner will be served (details TBA)
- Car decorating for the caravans to the competition
- UGA COMPETITION - SATURDAY JANUARY 23RD
- attached is the waiver you need to complete and send it to Coach Wright
- there will be a mandatory practice on Friday January 22nd from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Centre Stage
- there will be a mandatory social gathering following practice
- hosted by the Brink family
- Dinner will be served (details TBA)
- car decorating for caravan to competition
- UDA STATE COMPETITION - SATURDAY FEBRUARY 13TH
- This is a change of date from the original date - please make a note of this change
- required paperwork will be provided to the dancers by Coach Wright shortly
- there will be a mandatory practice on Friday, February 12th from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Centre Stage
- there will be a mandatory social gathering following practice
- need a family to host the dinner and car decorating
